New Zealand got off to a rollicking start courtesy Finn Allen and Devon Conway‘s quick-fire 43-run stand. The right-arm off spinner Sundar stepped up when chips were down for India as he struck twice in his second over.

Sundar first dismissed Allen for 35 and then what followed next surprised everyone on the field. Sundar plucked a one-handed stunner to send Mark Chapman back to the pavilion for duck.
Chapman seemed to have taken aback with a slower one from Sundar as he pushed forward in defence, the ball went up in the air. Sundar made a full-length dive to his right to take a one-handed catch.
Earlier, India skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl for the first of three Twenty20 internationals.
The hosts, who come fresh from their 3-0 sweep of the Kiwis in the one-day series, have picked wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal.
The team are lacking star players including regular skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both rested for their second successive T20 series.
