NEW DELHI: Stand-in skipper Matt Short hit an unbeaten century and fine fifty by Chris Lynn helped Adelaide Strikers complete the highest successful run chase in Big Bash League (BBL) history in Adelaide on Thursday.
Short (100*) and Lynn (64) broke free as the Strikers chased down a mammoth target of 230 to beat the Hobart Hurricanes (229/4) by seven wickets.

Short slammed Pakistan paceman Faheem Ashraf for back-to-back boundaries in the 20th over to raise his century and sealed the victory with three balls to spare.
With regular skipper Peter Siddle sidelined with back injury, Short led for the front as he scored 100 not out off 59 balls.

This is not the first record broken by the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL this season.

They produced an astonishing bowling performance in December to dismiss Sydney Thunder for 15, a record low total in a professional T20 match.
The Adelaide Strikers are fourth in the BBL standings, while the Hobart Hurricanes are sixth.
