NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals have used the minimum purse of Rs 11.65 crore to buy 18 players in the inaugural auction of the Women’s Premier League. India’s star batter Jemimah Rodrigues turned out to be their biggest buy of the event with franchise shelling out whopping Rs 2.2 crore.
Under-19 T20 World Cup skipper Shafali Verma will also be seen donning the DC’s jersey in the maiden season of WPL slated to be held from March 4 to 26.
The franchise also acquired Australia women’s team captain Meg Lanning, who is arguably one of the most successful cricketers in women’s cricket history.
