NEW DELHI: Having registered a narrow 12-run win in the high-scoring first ODI, Team India produced an all-round effort to outplay New Zealand and clinched a lop-sided eight-wicket win in the second match of the series.
With this crushing win, India sealed the three-match series with one match to go and went on to with their 7th ODI bilateral series at home, bettering their six ODI bilateral series win record at home between 2016-2018 and 2009-2011.
Indian pacers ran riot with their incisive bowling spells to bundle out the Kiwis for meagre 108 in 34.3 overs. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with an impressive figures of 3/18 in 6 overs.

In response, Skipper Rohit Sharma made 51 and Shubman Gill an unbeaten 40 as India romped home in 20.1 overs.
India’s juggernaut began in December 2019 by winning the three-match series against the West Indies 2-1. India replicated their success against Australia as they emerged victorious 2-1 in the three-match rubber.
Next team to have suffered the same fate was England as India continued their home domination with another series victory. India won the three-match series 2-1.

In October last year, India got the better of South Africa 2-1 in the three-match series and their home domination remained intact.
India started 2023 in style by handing Sri Lanka a 3-0 series whitewash including a record 317-run victory – in terms of runs – in the the third and last ODI.
