Off-spinner Mehidy registered figures of 5/63 as Bangladesh tried valiantly to prevent India from chasing 145 to win, but the visitors fought back through Ravichandran Ashwin (42*) and Shreyas Iyer (29*) to win and sweep the series 2-0.
The duo bailed India out with an unbeaten 71-run stand from a precarious 74 for 7.
After the match, Kohli gifted his jersey to Mehidy, who then shared his joy with a picture on social media.
“Special souvenir from one of the greatest cricketer Virat Kohli,” Mehidy captioned the image he posted on Twitter.

Among Mehidy’s five-wicket haul in India’s second innings was the wicket of Kohli as well. The Bangladesh players celebrated the dismissal jubilantly but some of the words directed at Kohli angered the former India skipper.
But in a show of true sportsmanship, Kohli buried the hatchet by gifting a souvenir to Mehidy.
