NEW DELHI: As a ton-up Suryakumar Yadav fired India to a series-clinching victory with his sizzling unbeaten 51-ball 112 knock, skipper Hardik Pandya was all praise for the swashbuckling batter.
Suryakumar’s third T20I ton helped India thrash Sri Lanka by 91 runs in Rajkot on Saturday as Hardik and co. clinched the series 2-1.
Lauding Surya’s heroic knock, the skipper said that the 32-year-old makes look batting so easy.

“I think he (SKY) has been surprising everyone every innings that he is batting. He is just telling us that batting is so easy. He has played blinders after blinders. If I were bowling to him, I’d be disheartened on seeing his batting, Hardik said in the post-match presentation.
During his maiden T20I century on home soil, Surya smashed unbeaten 112 as his knock came at a strike rate of 219.61 that included 7 fours and 9 sixes.
Speaking on his purple patch — his third century in 43 innings — Surya shed light on the preparations that went behind.

“It’s really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for a game. If you do that in practice, it gets a little easier while playing the game. There is a lot of hard work involved but it’s about doing quality practice sessions. You should know what your game is and prepare accordingly,” player of the match Surya said.

The 2-1 win is now India’s 25th bilateral series win against Sri Lanka in India.
