NEW DELHI: In the form of his life, Shubman Gill smashed a scintillating century in the series deciding third T20I against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
The 54-ball century was Gill’s first in the shortest format. With the masterful ton, Gill became the fifth Indian to score centuries across formats.

The 23-year-old from Punjab hit 12 fours and 7 sixes in his unbeaten knock of 126 that came off 63 balls. The blitz from Gill took India to an imposing 234 for 4 in the 20 overs.

Gill also now has the highest T20I score by an Indian — 126 not out — followed by Virat Kohli‘s 122* vs Afghanistan that he scored in Dubai in 2022. Rohit is third on the list with his 118-run knock that came against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017.

Gill joined the likes of Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in the list of India players scoring centuries in all the three formats.

Gill also hit his highest individual scores of 208 and 123* in ODIs and T20Is respectively against New Zealand.
Gill reached his maiden T20I fifty off 35 balls with a single off Santner.
Gill brought up his century with a four over the mid-off fielder off the bowling of Lockie Ferguson in the first ball of the 18th over. He broke free and clobbered Ferguson over mid-wicket for a huge six in the next ball.
