What to Watch on Vudu

The days are shorter but the nights are longer, which opens up more time for movie lovers to watch new, recent and classic titles, either for the first time or on a long-overdue rewatch. What can we watch tonight? Let us turn to Vudu and their absolutely splendid selection of movies to enjoy at home this week.

Cate Blanchett delivers a towering performance in director Todd Field’s critically-acclaimed TÁR. She stars as a world-famous conductor and composer whose life threatens to come apart as she composes a new symphony.

Can two divorced people save their daughter from a fate worse than death? George Clooney and Julia Roberts star in Ticket to Paradise as a divorced couple who reunite only to keep their daughter (Kaitlyn Dever) from a wedding in Bali they are convinced will ruin her life.

More than simply a title, Amsterdam represents a state of mind shared by three best friends (Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington) who are implicated for a murder. Clearing their names will lead to uncovering an amazing criminal plot that may be hard to believe, yet is absolutely true.

As Don’t Worry Darling begins, Florence Pugh has settled nicely into a planned community. She kisses her loving husband (Harry Styles) goodbye every morning, busies herself with household duties, visits with the other neighborhood wives and very much enjoys the comfortable suburban lifestyle. Cracks in her existence start appearing, though, making her wonder what is causing them — and what it is, exactly, that her husband and all the other men are doing, under the watchful eye of head honcho Chris Pine. Olivia Wilde directed the captivating mystery-thriller.

Love is never easy, as Bros makes clear. Billy Eichner is perfectly happy as a single person, but when he meets Luke Macfarlane, the sparks begin to fly. Inevitably, they both must come to grips with the idea that a committed relationship may be in their best interests. Yet how to they get there? Anyone who’s been in a relationship will be able to relate to the sincere heart of this raunchy comedy.

In The Good House, Sigourney Weaver appears to have her life all sorted out. She raised two children, they stay in touch and she enjoys the company of her New England neighbors — especially an old flame (Kevin Kline) with whom she begins a tentative romance. As things heat up, though, simmering personal issues come to the fore, bringing her life to a boiling point in the dramatic comedy.
