Smiling Adnan Syed is cheered as his conviction is tossed

After 23 years behind bars Adnan Syed – whose case featured in the hit podcast Serial – has had his murder conviction tossed.

Prosecutors said they lacked confidence in the “integrity” of their case against Syed, though they were not saying he is innocent.
